About the image:
This linocut was created for an amazing Vashon Island event called The Big Print. Talented Vashon Island artists descended upon the parking lot at the Blue Heron, armed with carved linoleum inspired by fire, earth, wind, and water. All day from 8 a.m. to mid-afternoon, they inked and printed, using a steamroller as a working press.
This design incorporates all four elements. It celebrates the joys of life here on our little island—nights at the beach, fire balloons, glistening water, starry skies, and good friends.
